Buffalo introduces 32GB SHD-U32GS USB flash drive

there's a couple of 32GB flash drives out there to be found if you look hard enough, but Buffalo reckons one more alternative won't hurt a thing. The capacious SHD-U32GS features USB 2.0 connectivity along with the company's heralded Turbo USB technology, which mysteriously promises up to 16-percent faster transfers than similar drives. Additionally, the unit weighs in at just 20 grams and measures 19- x 14- x 91-millimeters in size, and it can be yours in a matter of days for around ¥33,768 ($302)

Transcend joins the 16GB SDHC Card

The "world's first" 16GB SDHC card in the Class 6 family, and now Transcend is hitting us all up with a very viable alternative. The card guarantees a minimum write speed of 6MB/second, includes ECC to automatically detect and fix errors and sports a lifetime warranty, too. Not a lot to say beyond that -- especially considering the glaring lack of a price or ship date but we doubt you'll be waiting too much longer before seeing this on store shelves.

Eye-Fi WiFi-enabled SD card

Eye-Fi to bring its self-titled wireless SD card to market, but on the plus side, that Benjamin now gets you 2GB of storage -- a welcome boost for a rumored capacity that had dipped as low as 512MB. In case the past 18 months have made the details a little fuzzy, this 802.11g card requires a one-time setup on your PC before it's ready to automatically upload full resolution pics to one of 17 websites each time you turn on your camera. SanDisk starts shipping 8GB microSDHC

SanDisk was trumpeting its 8GB microSDHC cards all the way back in June, but it's taken until now for the company to ship the little buggers -- but we're also getting an 8GB Memory Stick Micro (also known as M2) version as a reward for our patience. The 8GB SDHC card will set you back $139, while the M2 stick is $149, and both should be in stores worldwide now, according to SanDisk.

Buffalo offers up external HD DVD / Blu-ray combo drive in Japan

Nah, Buffalo isn't manufacturing the HD DVD / Blu-ray drive that sits comfortably within its new external enclosure, but those parked in Japan can reportedly get ahold of this peace maker for just ¥51,000 ($440). Apparently, Buffalo chose the GGC-H20N optical drive to read both high-definition formats in its BHC-6316U2, and CyberLink's PowerDVD7.3 Ultra will also be thrown in for good measure. Next month, Buffalo will be loosing the BRHC-6316U2, which will utilize the GGW-H20N Blu-ray burner / HD DVD reader and will run customers a respectable ¥74,800 ($644).
